Blessed and wonderful evening to all my brothers & sisters! 🙂 I’m here to present to you another new God Inspired category for this year where God moved in a mighty way through these Short Stories.
Quick Testimony:- Before I never used my Short Stories to glorify Jesus. It was sinful and I found it enjoyable, good, the right thing I thought I was writing but nooooooo… The Holy Spirit dealt with me about that and the conviction from him was very strong that one night I cleaned out the entire flash drive and deleted all the photos that I had downloaded to go with each story. I repented. This was God spiritually cleaning out my writing and now it is used ONLY to please Him and for his Holy name to be glorified. ❤ He’s so good.
May this first piece be a blessing to all in Jesus name. Let the Master speak to you through each word. 🙂
SPIRITUAL SHORT, SHORTS.
INSPIRED BY GOD.
ORIGINAL WRITER/AUTHOR: – CHRIST JESUS.
The angelic strings of the golden guitar chimed melancholy as his wrinkled face slowly moved to its tune side to side from the hospital bed. At age 90 this wasn’t the place he was looking forward to being, but he didn’t allow his present situation to stop him from giving his Savior the glory and praise He deserves. His talent wasn’t dying as he joined in with his granddaughter as both sung,
“I bring my offering, to the King. I bring my offering to the King. I bring my offering to the King. I bring my offering to the King. My heart is all that I have, all that I have to bring. My heart is all that I have, all that I have to bring.”
These lines were repeatedly sung a number of times. Raising his right hand that regains strength through the praise and power of the Holy Spirit that was present; to the ceiling, as he cried, “Holy are You, Lord God Almighty! There is none like You. None can save, heal, deliver like You, my God forever and ever! You are worthy, Oh Lamb of Israel! I love You, Lord! Hallelujah!” The strings were the only voice that remained singing as the young woman closed her eyes and swayed in the presence of the Holy Lamb. Suddenly there came an innocent groan not too far away from the musical instrument that came along with a smirk and an awful look of confusion.
“How can you do that? It’s impossible.” He ended as his mother played the last note.
“You mean to play the guitar?” she sarcastically retorted.
“No Mom… I mean offering your heart that beats inside of you to the Lord. It’s impossible. If you do that you will die right? I mean you can’t take out your heart and give it as an offering. That’s what we got money for. To give instead of our living hearts that supplies us with life every day.” Sea green orbs blinked twice.
“Who said it’s impossible?”
“I guess any seven-year-old male?” as questioning palms raised.
“Haha. Oh, son, you have it all wrong. You can offer your entire heart to God without dying. It’s more like, say, surrendering your life to the source of life. God is the Father of life. In Him we breathe, we move and have our being. As you said that our heart supplies us with life right?”
“Well, He breathes into us every day His breath of life that allows us to live. He is the source of our heart. The source of our life. If we don’t offer our life back unto the Life Giver, we won’t live or even have life. We’ll be dead for there’s no life without Him. Just like a body without a beating heart.”
“Hmmm… so it’s like an exchange for a gift then? The gift of life?”
“Yep. For the free gift of salvation that we receive through His son Christ Jesus by faith.”
“Okay. I understand that. So the King you guys sang about in the song is Jesus which is God’s Son and the offering is our heart?”
“Yes, sonny boy…*coughs*” replied the old man. He continued, “You see the meaning of the song is simple. Daily we must bring our hearts to the Lord of our life, yearning to become more like Him. When we lay our heart at His feet, be it in prayer or worship we reverence his supremacy and holiness that it’s only Him alone that can change our heart and wash it clean with His holy blood that was shed for us on the cross. All He wants is our heart.”
“Wow! God is so merciful. I really thought He would have wanted more than that though.”
Everyone chortled at the innocent remark.
“So there you have it son. The meaning of offering your heart to the Lord Jesus.” Lifting him up so he now rested at his grandpa’s side.
Deeply staring into the corresponding color orbs of his grandfather he said, “Pa. Is Jesus going to heal you?”
“Yes, He will and even if He doesn’t right away it doesn’t change His love towards me that is everlasting. I’m to be blamed for this sonny boy. I should have taken better care of myself you see.”
“And if you die…” there was silence in the room for a while, when the old man happily answered, “I’ll have life everlasting on the other side boy! In heaven with the King of my heart! Isn’t that great news to be rejoicing about?”
“Well, I guess so. That sure is confusing. How can the dead live after?”
“When you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.”
“You mean when I give my heart offering to the King?” staring across at his mother.
“Oh yeah! That’s it, Charlie. You got the message clear as the blue skies above!” moving over to the other side of the bed as the mobile hovered over their faces.
“What’s those things, Leslie?” the old man wondered with a raised eyebrow.
“Pa, don’t make this memory an embarrassing one. It’s a smartphone and a selfie stick that you simply take photos with.” As the palm of shame covered his countenance.
“Okay. At least I’m somewhat updated with these robots of the latter days.” Ruffling his red hair as the young lad shook his head.
“Ok, you two…Ready? Let’s count down Pa’s style.”
“Five loaves, four gates, three days, two angels and one Son! JESUSSSS!”
