Christ The Redeemer Art

Hello all and welcome back to…

Hornstail Terrariums

To see former posts related to this category go here:- art-of-de-islands 🙂

The arts that are produced are featured photos from my beautiful twin islands Trinidad and Tobago ❤ that I cut out from de islands tourist guide books that my bestie always save keep for me and I add a palette of colors/designs to it!

I always thought that Brazil was the ONLY country in the world that had built a depiction of Christ…little did I know that we have one too. Overlooking Mt. St Benedict Hill! I was like…WHAT? REALLY? We have that here and I didn’t know?

FUN FACTS!

^Mount Saint Benedict Abbey was established in 1912 on 240 acres of land approximately 700 feet above sea level, purchased by Dom Mayeul De Caigny, a Brazilian Benedictine monk from Trinidadian Andrew Gomez. By June 27, 1912, the land was officially Benedictine property.

^Today, with its tower and red roofs, the abbey consists of a church, a monastery, a seminary, a drug rehabilitation center, a yogurt factory, and Pax Guest House, a place for retreat. The abbey welcomes and draws people of all faiths seeking peace, solace, purpose, and fulfillment. Mount Saint Benedict is currently presided over by Abbot John Pereira and houses ten monks.

  1. Whoo! Another piece of art after so long! I love the design on this one. Yes, girl, we have that here, too, and that’s why we really need to plan some local trips so we can rejoice in all of the creation God gave to us. 💙

  2. God has place so much around us for our enjoyment. He is not boring and wants to be actively involved in our lives. Wow! If only we knew the depth. Even the colors are special creations from Him that send the message: “I love you.” Let’s enjoy the beauty of life and be thankful. Love the post. 🙂
